Villa Resort To Undergo Massive Expansion

The Villa Resort in Cathedral City is the oldest of the over 40 resorts catering to a gay clientele in the Coachella Valley. With its turn of the century adobe structures, mid-century bungalows and past life as an Elizabeth Arden beauty farm, the resort has long been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

New owners, and life partners, Bob Grinchuk and Reuel Olin recently purchased the historic property and are expanding the already spacious resort. The recently completed purchase of the 2.5 acres adjacent to the existing resort will double the size of the physical property and make it the largest resort in the Coachella Valley catering to a gay clientele.

"We're forming the plans literally as we speak," explains Olin. "Condos, more guest rooms, another pool, we're looking at every possibility."

"The additional land is another piece in our plan to create an extraordinary destination for discriminating gay travellers," adds Grinchuk. "The spaciousness and amenities we can offer with a resort of this size will be unique in our market."

The secluded location and lush landscaping create a welcome sense of tranquillity. An immediate plan for additional off-street parking on the new lot will allow the owners to reclaim land previously used as perimeter parking lots. The lots will be removed and incorporated into the overall landscaping of the property.
