February is...
A delightful month in Palm Springs and a month of dynamic change at The Villa Resort, all to better serve our guests. Here goes . . .
THE RENOVATION PROJECT (otherwise known as "The Old Is New Again" or "What You See as you gaze at the western half of The Villa Resort property from the Adobe @ The Villa’s dining terrace").
At this writing, the 24 rooms that were taken out of service two months ago for complete renovation are being painted gorgeous colors inside and out. That’s because the new roofs are already installed and the walls drywalled (you didn’t know we’d get technical).
These rooms are significantly empty now, with the exception of large boulders from Bob and Reuel’s Little Tuscany home which were crane-dropped through the roofs (before the skylights were mounted, thank goodness) into the bathroom atrium areas, and they await the soon-to-be delivered custom-crafted furnishings. The decor will be reminiscent of the mid-century modern era when these rooms housed society lady habitues of "The Elizabeth Arden Beauty Farm" in search of, well, beauty. (Aren’t we all)?
The private terraces for each bungalow have been poured and await landscaping and colorful umbrella tables and chairs. Many of these look out at the new (second) pool and spa which have just been tiled and anticipate . . . water . . . and YOU Sunning, Schmoozing, Sipping, Swimming, Seeking and . . . finding . . . beauty.
"And when will this beauty be ready to be found?" you might ask. The new rooms will be open on February 13 in time for Valentine's Day weekend. Then we’ll have a Grand Reopening gala the weekend of March 5th, with guest stars and special specials (we’ll announce in the papers as we get closer or come by for the personal info that, as a VillaLetter recipient, you deserve). But read on to discover something special just for you.

What's Ahead At The Villa Resort
Since we envision The Villa Resort as epitomizing the essence of Romance, naturally Valentine’s weekend holds a special place in our hearts. For example, Friday, February 13 at The Villa Resort offers a "Lucky In Love" 4-course prix fixe dinner at $69 per couple. What could be more romantic than drinking Love Potion #9--a Pablo specialty (and included in the price)--in the glow of the Adobe Dining Room’s indoor or outdoor fireplace. Then, the next night, The Troupers will reign supreme in their custom-designed (there we go again) show "Luv and Kizzes." The show will have you rolling in the aisles (but, please, not into the pool) and includes a five-course dinner, the Love Potion (guaranteed results) and a rose for each Valentine celebrant, all for $88 per couple. Cocktail seating will also be available. Yes, reservations are requested: 760-328-7211.

A Villa Visit From Bob and Reuel
When we talk about February changes at The Villa Resort, we are not only excited about the fabulous new redoings, but about The Villa Resort’s new impresario, Larry Myers (otherwise known as the "GM" for General Manager). Larry will supervise all restaurant and room operations (no small assignment considering our ambitions). But he’s up to the task. After all, for the past ten years he's been the manager of Cuistot, one of Coachella Valley’s finest restaurants (yes, great things are already happening at Adobe @ The Villa). Among many other accomplishments in his distinguished hospitality career, he created the restaurants and bars at the famous gay resort, Fife’s, in the Russian River and owned his own jazz club in San Francisco (which ties nicely into our plans to make The Villa Resort a mecca for fine entertainment). Come by and meet Larry. He’s a prince of a guy, and we’re just delighted he’ll be heading our team.
